And Now, the Princess Diana Exhibition We’ve Been Waiting For
It’s official. Tickets are now live for Diana: Love Life Legacy — A Life of Giving, opening November 7, 2026, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, California.
After years of collecting, preserving and sharing pieces of Princess Diana’s story, the collection is coming together for its first exhibition stop at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. More than 700 original pieces will offer an intimate look across Diana’s life, from childhood and family to fashion, motherhood, royal life and humanitarian work.
For Renae Plant, curator of The Princess Diana Museum, some pieces carry a connection that is deeply personal. Among them is Diana’s Versace dress (picture left) and, especially, the Caring dress, which connects directly to Renae’s own history of meeting Diana.
An Iconic Night, Reunited
From fashion and personal belongings to historic moments that connected Diana with the United States, the exhibition brings together a remarkable range of objects that help tell a more complete story of her life and legacy.
One of the most anticipated pieces is the gown Diana wore when she danced with John Travolta at the White House State Dinner in 1985. Its return to The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library carries particular significance, where it will be displayed alongside Nancy Reagan’s gown from that same evening. From Virtual to Very Real
Until now, these dresses have existed primarily within the digital walls of The Princess Diana Museum, a carefully photographed, documented and shared with audiences around the world through the museum’s virtual collection. Now, they leave the screen.
For the first time, visitors will be able to stand in front of these remarkable pieces and experience them as they were meant to be experienced: in three dimensions, up close, with the details, textures and craftsmanship. What has lived virtually within the museum is about to become tangible — a collection of Diana’s clothing and personal history brought into a physical exhibition where her story can be seen, not simply viewed.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to see these celebrated pieces alongside lesser-known objects and personal treasures, creating connections between the public moments we remember and the private life behind them.
For Renae, seeing these pieces come together in a major exhibition is also a continuation of a story that began long before the museum existed. Her personal encounters with Diana shaped a lifelong connection that ultimately became the foundation for preserving and sharing this collection.
